Our April 27 Issue is Out Now – We Love Drag Queens!

Apr 27, 2023

Let’s be clear. Everyone here at Outword loves drag queens. We have worked with local drag queens for over 27 years and can say they do more for any community than most politicians currently in Washington. With this issue of Outword we would like to reaffirm our commitment to supporting drag and drag culture. Be sure to check out the wonderful photos from the Cancer is a Drag event and an opinion piece by Chris Narloch about current attempts to demonize drag queens, on page 8.

On page 4, you will find an informative article about the upcoming Big Day of Giving, on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Be sure to check out the various institutions participating and give what you can, where you want. Don’t forget, Drag Queen Bingo’s special VIP Big Day Bingo event will be taking place at Mango’s that very same evening. If you haven’t gotten your VIP tickets, you had better hurry. They are almost all sold out!

We love that this issue has several pages of great pictures of some of the recent happenings in town. Besides the Cancer is a Drag pics, on page 10 you’ll find pics from the most recent Rainbow Chamber of Commerce’s monthly mixer, this time hosted by Tri Counties Bank. Keep flipping and you’ll come across pics from Sunburst Projects’ ribbon cutting ceremony on page 15, and on page 24 there are some fun images from Outword’s recent Liquid Therapy at Badlands with a very special guest, Tom Goss. What a wonderful night!

With a total of 32 pages, you know there are a lot more things stuffed into the pages of this Outword. Here are a few: a fun book review, people helping people at The Landing Spot, great wine to discover, a quintet of movies to see and a dance project in Tahoe Park.

So, start clickin’ and-a swipin’ to read the issue online, or swing by a watering hole and pick up a paper copy. Either way, we think you’ll be glad you did.
