See A Drive-In Double Feature For Free!

By Chris Narloch

In addition to the lower housing costs, one of my favorite aspects of living in Rancho Cordova is its proximity to the last drive-in movie theater in the Sacramento area, and one of the last in California. (Only several hundred drive-in theaters remain in the entire United States.)

So I am especially pleased to announce that the West Wind Sacramento 6 Drive-in in Rancho Cordova will be having their annual Free Movie Night this Thursday, September 13th, 2018.

That night, the drive-in will be playing “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” “Skyscraper,” “Hotel Transylvania 3,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” “Incredible 2,” and the latest “Mission Impossible” film – for free! Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and movies will start at 8:00.

To be clear, this isn’t the sort of dilapidated drive-in you remember from yesteryear, with holes in the screen and awful sound coming from a squawk box that hung on your car door. If you haven’t been to the drive-in in awhile, you can expect crisp, digital projection and sound that comes through your car radio.

Make sure to arrive early this Thursday, to beat the long lines and also have plenty of time to play games, visit the snack bar, and listen to live music. Enjoy bouncy houses, rock wall climbing, superheroes and much more! What's not to love about Free Movie Night?
